Chaiiwala Review

I’m all for fusion food although some places make it work much better than others šŸ˜‰. Bearing this in mind, I recently went down to check out the iconic Walthamstow market and then popped into Chaiwalla for something to munch with friends.

Quite a nice selection to choose from, we ordered a Bombay sandwich, masala chips, some Karak chai and Garam chocolates (!) and Gajar halwa cheesecake to finish off!

The sandwich was like a grilled cheese toastie but with spicy potato instead- imagine grilled sandwich meets aloo tikki! Served with a yummy mint coriander chutney, it was seriously delish. The fries were also very moreish, handcut chips marinated in a tangy spicy sauce served with red and green chutney.

The karak chai and garam chocolates washed it all down wonderfully, just what you need to warm you up and relax you after a hard days shopping in the food cold!

The dessert was a tad disappointing, it wasn’t awful, but just didn’t taste much of gajar halwa!

There was loads more on the menu we wanted to try, it’s definitely worth checking out. All in all a nice place with a great selection of desi street food and snacks.
